TEP Skidpad Installation: -------------------------------------------------------- - Unzip into your Nascar3\Tracks\ directory - Open the ALL.CAL file (located in the Nascar3 directory) and add the following line: ## 12 31 0 0 SKIDPAD TEP_1 TEP_1 1 event1.tga biglogo1.tga - To uninstall, delete the skidpad directory NOTE - For more information on CAL file editing, go to http://simracingconnection.virtualave.net/nascar/cal.html Intro: -------------------------------------------------------- - SkidPad is a .25 mile (larger depending on which surface you happen to be testing) track with a 4-tier banking, (0, 2.5, 5, and 15 degrees) allowing multiple uses. Players will be able to test suspension settings in a quick fashion with minimal track time. Want to know how reducing the left-front shock will alter the characteristics of the car? SkidPad will tell. Track's best use: -------------------------------------------------------- - Import and load the setup you want tested. - Use "Testing Session" when entering track - Enter track and with chosen setup - When on track, follow one of the painted lines, modulating the throttle to keep a steady line. - Complete a dozen laps or so and note your best lap(s) - Make shock/tire changes to setup and repeat... ... note what the changes did to the lap times? NOTE - I was very amazed when I tried this myself. Try a setup that has 100% right-side shocks. Note time/speed of laps. Then make the shocks 0% and try the same number of laps. Amazing isnt it? Warnings: -------------------------------------------------------- - The track is 0.25 miles at the painted line seperating the 2degree and the 5degree banked surfaces. Timing will reflect the larger radius if up on the 15degree surface, or smaller radius when lower then the 5degree surface. - Skidpad can only be used in a testing session as no AI will be included. - Pit stall is large enough for only one (the player's) car so multiplayer will not work either. - Software-mode users may see pallete corruption Credits: -------------------------------------------------------- Tim McArthur - TRK, 3DO, and Installer work Tony Krist - Graphics TEP - http://www.simcyberworld.com/html/tep/index.htm
